In the news...Northwestern Mutual Foundation Donates $10,000 to Lydia Home on Behalf of On Behalf of Chicago, IL Financial Representative’s Volunteer Involvement
The Northwestern Mutual Foundation has announced a $10,000 grant for Lydia Home in recognition of Northwestern Mutual financial representative Toby Eng’s dedication to the organization. Eng is a 2001 graduate of Wheaton College. In honor of his contributions, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation is naming Eng an “Outstanding Volunteer” in the company’s national Community Service Award program, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Since the program’s inception, nearly $3 million has been contributed to almost 300 non-profit organizations throughout the country. “Northwestern Mutual is pleased to extend its financial strength to help support strong communities across the country,” said Edward J. Zore, chairman and chief executive officer of Northwestern Mutual. “Our financial representatives are deeply committed to serving their communities and in Chicago, IL Toby has led the way.”
The Community Service Award program is open to more than 9,000 Northwestern Mutual financial representatives and assistant financial representatives, recognizing exemplary volunteer involvement and dedication to charitable organizations and philanthropic projects. Eng is one of 25 winners nationwide who were named in the annual competition. Through the program funded by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, more than $275,000 will be donated this year to various nonprofit organizations.
“Opening our home and our hearts to at-risk children whose own parents can’t care for them has been a humbling experience for my wife and me. I hope others will be made aware of the great need for a safe haven and be inspired to join this part of the community safety net, said Eng.”
